Lee Stapleton is an American composer based in California.
Born and raised in Ludington, MI, Lee was introduced to classical music at a young age through evening piano performances by his father, a highly accomplished classical pianist. He began piano lessons along with his older sister at age 7, studied privately with a jazz instructor in his teens, and performed with various bands in the Lansing and Detroit area throughout his 20s. He also managed Bob Baldori's multitrack commercial recording studio, where he recorded radio spots for local ad agencies, cut demos for local bands, and occasionally worked as a producer.
After winning a world-wide competition for composing and being featured in Keyboard magazine (a global publication now out of print), Lee set aside his music career aspirations, relocated to Silicon Valley, and worked in the tech industry for the next 2 decades. Never giving up his passion for music, he continued to perform, compose, and study - including successfully completing the Professional Composing and Orchestrating for Film and TV program at Berklee College of Music.
